Accidental Farmers – Stories to Grow Series

Introducing a series of talks from mentors of XICF, sharing their unique stories, passions and convictions as they walk alongside God through different stages of life.

We have over 1000 years of life experience among the 30 + mentors we have in this group – that’s a lot of life to share! Hopefully something will be of interest to YOU!

Accidental Farmers

30 years following the Great Commission on Three Continents
Jim and Joann Arneberg have been missionaries and tentmakers in China, East Africa, and the United States for most of their married life. Along with their four TCKs (Third Culture Kids), walking in step with the call of the great commission has brought life’s greatest adventures – from remote highlands of the Serengeti to Chinese megacities to the suburbs of Minnesota. Sometimes it’s harvesting, sometimes it’s planting, sometimes it’s pulling stumps and rocks out of the field to prepare and WAIT for the next thing.

Is obedience to God’s call hard or easy? How do you persevere in ministry when reality does not meet your expectations? Is it possible to survive for eight years by collecting rainwater? What do you do when your one-year-old is run over by an ostrich?

Join us to hear about Jim and Joann’s journey and lessons learned along the way.

12:20-12:45 light lunch
12:45-1:45 STG Session

Open to male and female (no age limit).
